Masters of beautification

Thursday, August 23, 2012

A special thanks goes to Dan and Merrily Ward, Richard and Mary Knight, Mike and Anita Rissler, Sue Davis and Joy Flake for being early birds and working early on a recent Monday morning on the Green Forest Public Square beautification project by the Carroll County Master Gardeners. A great breeze made it almost pleasant working conditions, they said. A special thanks to the Wards and Davis who drove for 45 minutes to help make the square even more beautiful. There are only a couple of dead plants that will be replaced in the fall but the rest is doing amazingly well. A young city worker "Roudy" explained to the Master Gardeners about the watering system. "We thanked him for doing such a great job keeping everything looking so good in this extreme heat," said Mary Knight. "It is truly a project for us all to be proud of." Mike Rissler and Margaret Wallace served as the project's chairmen.
