Re: Marshall HS Football
Because of extremely low numbers in its program Marshall High School will not compete in football on the varsity level in 2012.
Marshall was originally assigned to the Class 3A 1 Conference which also consist of Elkins, Green Forest, Greenland, Melbourne, Mountain View, West Fork and Yellville-Summit. Since the school notified the Arkansas Activities Association office prior to the start of the season it will not have to forfeit the games on its 2012 schedule.
Marshall's opponents for 2012 have been contacted about the [Marshall] Bobcats situation.

Unique admission to the Bobcat Purple &
Gold game
| The Bobcat Purple & Gold game will be held Aug. 17 and admission to the preseason contest is a little different this year. | New Arkansas Athletic Association rules prohibit bar soap from the athlete's shower due to health concerns so the Berryville athletic department is using the Purple and Gold game as an opportunity to stock up on needed supplies. |
"Admission to the game by donation of any of the following items: body wash, liquid laundry detergent, 'Shout', or dryer sheets," says head football coach Eric Daniels.
The Jr. high team will begin play at 7 p.m. with the Sr. high taking the field conclusion of that game," head coach Eric Daniels said.
The senior high Bobcats will travel to Mansfield on Aug. 21 for a scrimmage game beginning at 6 p.m.
