School board elections are next month

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

CARROLL COUNTY -- The deadline to register to vote for the annual school elections is Aug. 20. In September voters will go to the poll to select representatives for their school district.

The annual school elections for Berryville and Eureka Springs school districts are Sept. 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Green Forest school district will not be opening polls on election day but they will be conducting their district election strictly through early and absentee voting in compliance with the Arkansas Election Law 6-14-102(c)(1). The school board voted and passed a resolution to accept early and absentee votes.

"The Green Forest school district does not have to hold on-site polling because there is not a millage increase and the candidate running for the position is running unopposed," said election coordinator Bethe Henley.

Early voting will begin Tuesday, Sept. 11 and will be conducted at the Eureka Springs and Berryville courthouses from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Polling sites for regular voting for Berryville will be at the Berryville Community Center. And regular voting for Eureka Springs will be at St. Elizabeth Parish Center.
