Willie "Bill" Youngblood
Willie "Bill" Youngblood, resident of Green Forest, AR, was born Apr. 21, 1913 in Carroll County, Yocum, AR, daughter of Seaborn Lafayette and Martha Mattie (Roberts) Morris. She departed this life Wednesday, Jul. 25, 2012 with family by her side in Fayetteville, at the age of 99.
Willie was baptized at the Methodist Church in Green Forest. She was a strong member of the Democratic Party. Just out of high school she was a caregiver, worked at Glick Garment Factory in Berryville, a Sugar Mill in California and owned several businesses. Willie loved square dancing, attending fiddler's contests, traveling around the area and spending time with her family and friends. Willie loved being around her family so very much that she hosted a family and friends gathering in April on a Sunday closest to her birthday. Everyone looked forward to it each year.
Willie is survived by four sisters-in-law, Maroline Morris of Oak Grove, AR, Lucille Morris of Springdale, AR, Lois Jean Morris of California and Norene Youngblood of Berryville, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and other relatives and friends.
On Mar. 27, 1935, Willie was united in marriage with John Roy Youngblood who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, Seaborn and Martha Morris; one sister, Ruby and Everett Frazier; six brothers, Earl and Sibyl Morris, Gene Morris, Charlie Morris, Paul Morris, J.S. and Peggy Morris and Buster Morris.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jul. 27, Nelson's Green Forest Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jul. 28, Nelson's Green Forest Chapel with Reverend Jim Goins officiating.
