Talent show comes to fair, set for Aug. 25-Sept. 1; Pageant forms here

BERRYVILLE -- Who will be named queen?

The Carroll County Fair & Livestock Show begins Saturday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. with a talent show for all ages.

The talent show will have several categories that will include Vocal Solo, Vocal Group, Instrumental Solo, Dance Solo, Dance Group and Variety show.

To enter the talent show, all entrants must fill out an entry form by Aug. 20, and include with the $25 entry fee. Forms and qualifications may be found at Community First Bank, KTHS, Berryville Chamber of Commerce or online at CarrollCoNews.com.

"Out of town judges will cast votes according to talent, appearance, preparedness and entertainment value," said coordinator Jenny Morris. "First place certificates will be awarded to the winner of each category."

There will be a "Best of Show" award for children, teens and adults, as well as an Honorable Mention award.

Also at the Carroll County Fair are the Little Mr. and Little Miss pageant and Miss Carroll County Pageant.

The pageants begin on Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. with the Little Mr. and Little Miss Pageants. The entry fee for contestants in this category is $30. The Miss Carroll County Pageant will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. and has a $35 entry fee for contestants.

Miss Carroll County will receive a $500 scholarship along with her crown. Other awards will be for 1st Runner Up, 2nd Runner Up, Miss Congeniality, Most Photogenic and Top Interview Award.

Spectators will get in free to the talent show upon paying a front-gate fee. Seating will not be provided; please bring lawn chairs.
