Dealing with the heat

Green Forest Athletic Director and head football coach Jay Martin announced that on July 29 the Green Forest Athletic department will present its heat and illness training program for both athletes and parents. It will cover information related to recognizing heat-related illnesses along with prevention measures.

As of press time the training session is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Alumni Center.

Football practice

GF head football coach Jay Martin announced that the first high school football practice is scheduled for July 30 at 8 a.m. Junior high practice will commence later that morning.

Important Berryville

football news

*All 7th graders with an up to date physical please come by field house Monday-Friday from 8am-3pm to pick up equipment for next year. Practice for 7th graders will begin the first day of school, August 20th.

*Junior(8th and 9th) and Senior(10th-12th) high practice will begin July 30th at 7:30 am.

*We will have a parent meeting on July 17th at 6 pm in the field house, this meeting is to cover new hydration and concussion awareness policies set by the Arkansas Activities Association.

*Berryville Senior High team will be participating in 7 on 7 games July 9, 16, and 23 at 6 pm in Harrison. We will also be hosting a Team Camp on July 12th at 6 pm with Green Forest and Huntsville. We will travel to Green Forest on the 19th and then to Huntsville on the 26th as well for Team Camps.

Fat tires & fun

The Fat Tire Festival is returning this Friday and is slated to begin at 2 p.m. with downhill practice at Lake Leatherwood Park. On Saturday highlights include: the Big Town Ride at 12 noon; Children's Fun Ride at Black Bass Lake Park, also at 12 noon; the Super Fat Tire Trials at Harmon Park at 3 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Sunday the Race to the Lake cross country ride begins at Basin Park.
