Foxtrotters "horse around"

BERRYVILLE -- The 23rd Annual Southern Classic Charity Horse Show was held at the Carroll County Fairgrounds last week Friday and Saturday. The event featured Missouri Foxtrotters. The annual equestrian event drew riders from Oklahoma and Missouri as well as Arkansas. Adults and youth, ages 12--17, completed not only in walking and trotting contests but also barrel racing, running poles and stakes, an other events.

After qualifying on Friday evening, contestants competed in the championship matches on Saturday. Berryville youth division rider Marlea Stone, aboard Charm, earned the Grand Champion title. Melody Smith, riding her horse Sunny, took Reserve Champion. She also rode in the 12--17 year-old division.
