Irene Ward

Irene Ward, a resident of Berryville, AR, was born Nov. 23, 1914 in Plymouth, TX, a daughter of Bob and Julia (Word) Whitten. She departed this life Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Berryville, at the age of 97 years.

Irene was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

Irene is survived by three sons, Lester Ward and wife Bunkie and Mickey Ward and wife Shirley, all of Berryville, AR and James Ward and wife Thresa of Frazier Park, CA; one brother, Jack Whitten of Borger, TX; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

On Nov. 3, 1933, Irene was united in marriage with Lester E. Ward who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Julia Whitten; three brothers; four sisters; and one son.

Graveside service were 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Curtis Bradley officiating.
