Top: The Eureka Springs Garden Club has awarded Gloria Stevens of 130 Shelton, just off of U.S. Highway 62, the Summer Home Garden of the season award. She is pictured with Annie Stricherz, Martha Tancre, and President of the Garden Club Pat Messer. Stevens' garden is filled with a mix of annuals, bulbs, as well as colorful perennial bushes. She includes whimsical lawn ornaments, pedestal pots and fabulous window boxes. Honorably mentioned is Malia Rutherford at 5 Eugenia and Ruth Wills at 57A North Main. Middle: Commercial winner is Comfort Inn on U.S. Highway 62. Pictured with the Garden Club ladies is Verla Marshall, head landscaper and Alonzo Martinez (one of the many gardeners) for the property. There is so much color in all areas of the Inn that we only pictured a small vignette and the gardeners. They have vincas growing in the rock wall in the back, and a huge burning bush surrounded by mammoth lush hostas. The two entrances into the property leave you spellbound with beauty and fragrance. Honorably mentioned is Elk Street Cottage, 27 Elk St. (off Historic Loop), and Wonderland Antiques (on Highway 62). Bottom: The Theme winner went to Barb Gavron, owner of Singleton House with her Victorian wonderland. Her garden is on a hill and she still managed to landscape the complete backyard with the help of her gardener David L. Hussey. It beckons visitors to want to see more as they stroll through the winding paths, passing blooming hollyhocks, colorful hydrangeas and climbing roses. Annuals are sprinkled everywhere, with not an empty spot to be seen. Ferns and water lillies decorate the flowing water feature. Gavron said it took years to reach this level of beauty and continues to takes hours of maintenance each week. -- By Annie Stricherz
