Goodman of Green Forest earns ACT Scholarship

GREEN FOREST -- Katelyn Goodman of Green Forest has been awarded an ACT Scholarship to attend North Arkansas College this fall.

Goodman is the daughter of Tim and Robyn Goodman and a graduate of Green Forest High School. She was a member of the volleyball and track teams, and was Student of the Month during her senior year, as well as voted Miss Green Forest and is the current reigning 2011 Miss Carroll County.

Goodman says she will major in Elementary Education and after earning her degree plans to teach kindergarten.

"Thank you for awarding this scholarship to me," Goodman said. "It will help me achieve one of my highest goals."

In order to qualify for an ACT Scholarship at NAC, a student must score 24 or higher on the ACT examination.

UCA awards scholarships

CONWAY -- The University of Central Arkansas announced that the following students have been awarded scholarships to attend UCA.

Colton McCance of Green Forest was awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the university; Kayla McCullough of Berryville was awarded a $20,000 achievement scholarship; and Georgette Rainwater of Berryville was awarded a $20,000 achievement scholarship.

Squires graduates top of class

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Tyler Squires of Berryville, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in American Political Studies/Spanish Global Studies from Drury University in May. Squires attended the School of Mathematics, Science and Art in Hot Springs.

ASMSA releases honor roll

HOT SPRINGS -- Juniors Toni Lunnemann of Green Forest and Wilson Guillory of Eureka Springs were named to the honor roll at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and Arts, the school recently announced.
