The burn ban was announced via news release around 3 p.m. this afternoon, Monday, June 18.
A previous burn ban issued had been recently lifted after the rains a couple of weeks ago.
"I'm just worried about public safety and want to prevent wildfires," Barr explained. "It's extremely dry out there and I don't want to see anyone lose their home or life to a forest fire or brush fire."
