Hearts On Fire youth conference slated for October

Monday, June 18, 2012

BRANSON, MO. -- The Hearts On Fire youth conference in Branson, Mo. is set for Oct. 26-27.

"We were very excited to have 439 youth and leaders present representing 33 churches from five different states," Executive Director of the Tennessee Baptist Convention Dr. Randy Davis said. "We are looking forward to a great conference in Branson this year."

The youth evangelism conference began in 1986 from 26 year-old youth Pastor, Scott Carter. Over the past 25 years the Hearts On Fire Conference in Gatlinburg, TN has grown from 150 to over 9000 attendees from 16 different states.

"We have seen literally thousands of teenagers come to faith in Christ and countless lives changed," Davis said. "The kingdom has been impacted by young men and women who have made decisions to surrender to full time ministry while attending the conference."

October 2011 marked a new beginning for Hearts On Fire with a second conference being held west of the Mississippi at the Welk Resort Theater in Branson, Mo.

Through the years Hearts on Fire has welcomed the likes of such speakers as Clayton King, Will Graham, Kirk Cameron, Tony Nolan, David Nasser, Dave Edwards, Greg Stier, Ken Freeman, Sean McDowell, Darren Whitehead, and this year will feature Ed Newton.

Hearts on Fire has had concerts provided by Salvador, Todd Agnew, 33 Miles, Sanctus Real, Charlie Hall, Aaron Shusts, FEE, Third Day, David Crowder Band, Kristian Stanfill, Roger Williams and the AMUQ. and in 2003 both concerts cancelled and an up and coming group filled in at the last minute, Casting Crowns.

"Wow, what a line up," Davis added. "This list is just a few of the many who have provided us with their music."

This year Dara Maclean and Jason Castro will be the musical guests.

The long-time conference is slated for many events for youths of all ages, says Davis. For more information visit the Hearts on Fire website at www.heartsonfireministries.org or call 865-776-2629.
