HOLIDAY ISLAND -- Holiday Island Baptist Church embarks on a path to an expanded future.

Holiday Island Baptist Church has purchased three lots adjacent to the original property and is in the process of changing the landscape to accommodate additional parking and add a multi-use building.

Ozark Southern Stone has leveled a large area to add landscaping and a stone, retaining wall about 256 feet long and more than 20 feet high. The wall was partially built for environmental purposes and partially for ambience. While the plans were to make the space more attractive, it will also keep the road from eroding.

Pastor Steve Ward has a vision of a growing church that is involved throughout the community, ministering to all ages in conjunction with his vision for the church

"Our long-range plans are to add another building there, but we would need more funding and first to pay for our wall," Ward said. "We could build something like a gymnasium for tournaments or a space for events and the wall is just another step for us to press forward in the community."
