EUREKA SPRINGS -- A U.S. Army veteran from Eureka Springs was killed Monday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a pickup near Lake Leatherwood State Park, state police said.

Arkansas State Police reported that 27-year-old Mark Dylan Stoia died in the accident that occurred at 4:29 p.m. about 1 mile west of Eureka Springs on U.S. Highway 62.

A passenger on the motorcyle, Shenelle Maisonneuve, 29, also of Eureka Springs, was critically injured in the accident and was air-lifted to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Mo. where she was reportedly in critical condition Tuesday morning in the Intensive Care Unit.

According to the police report, Stoia and Maisonneuve were headed westbound on U.S. 62 and traveled into the eastbound lane to pass a vehicle in front of them. Stoia's motorcycle struck the truck, driven by David Donahue of Berryville, head on. Stoia's bike caught fire upon impact.

Christopher Donahue, a passenger the truck, was transported to Eureka Springs Hospital. Eureka Springs Hospital declined to release any information concerning the condition of Christopher Donahue.
