Berryville boys on a roll

The old saying in soccer is that offense wins games but defense wins championships. And the Bobcats continue to paly tough defense, defeating Gentry 4--1.

"We were ahead 2-0 at halftime with both goals coming from Jose Martinez," says Berryville coach Don Earnest. "Defensively we were solid, not allowing a shot on goal until late in the game."

"The second half the played much better and took control at 3-0, with a goal coming from Selvin Reyes," Earnest continues. "Jose Martinez closed out the game by scoring his third goal to put us up 4-1 with about 6 minutes left." That's how the game ended. Jose Martinez had 3 goals and Slevin Reyes had 1 goal. Juan Mojica and Marcos Ramirez each had an assist. "This sets up a game Thursday against Green Forest for the conference title," Earnest says.
