British general to visit Eureka

Maj. Gen. Graham Hollands (Retired) of the British Royal Army Artillery will speak in Eureka Springs in February.

EUREKA SPRINGS -- Maj. Gen. Graham Hollands (Retired) of the British Royal Army Artillery will visit Eureka Springs in February in conjunction with an invitation by Tyson Foods Inc. to address their board of directors.

Hollands will address the public at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa Conservatory, located at 75 Prospect in Eureka Springs. The one-hour talk will be on the intriguing topic of "Intelligence and Deception" with a question-and-answer session at the end. Reservations are not required, but seating will be limited, so arrive early to ensure you get a chair.

Hollands served for 32 years with the British Royal Artillery. He commanded artillery at every level between troop and army group, and served as a principal Operational Staff Officer up to army level. His service included five operational tours in Northern Ireland and a major role in the planning and deployment for Operation DESERT STORM.

General Hollands will make a presentation on the topic of "Leadership" to students of the Eureka Springs High School at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, at a specially-arranged assembly.
