Wildflowers a reason to be thankful
There was a traffic jam in front of Wildflowers Food Pantry on Friday when lines of people waited their turn to take home all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving to feed to their families. According to Rocky Whitely, nearly 100 families were served, it was "really crowded" and a lot of food went out the door. It was all part of Wildflowers annual Thanksgiving feast give-away that they host every year. He said they have provided Thanksgiving meals to upwards of 150 families in the past. Wildflowers has operated its food pantry the last 18 years, every Friday except one when an ice storm shut the operation down. Donations are always welcome to keep the all-volunteer effort going.
