A traffic accident Saturday night east of Green Forest claimed the life of 32-year-old Justin Maybee of Green Forest when the motorcycle he was driving was struck from behind by a motorist in a Chrysler Sebring.

Injured was Crystal Symons, 20, of Harrison, a passenger on the 1996 Yamaha motorcycle.

According to Arkansas State Trooper Raymond Triplett, both Maybee and Symons were thrown from the bike and airlifted to St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo., where Maybee died from his injuries.

According to the preliminary report filed by Triplett, the accident occurred at 8:07 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 62, three miles east of Green Forest.

He said James A. McNinch, 47, of Alpena, was traveling west on the highway in the 2001 Sebring when he came upon a motorcycle also headed west, and rear-ended the motorcycle, causing both the driver and passenger to be thrown from the bike. Neither were wearing helmets.

Trooper Triplett said McNinch was not injured, the weather was clear and the road dry.
