Ninth grade Bobcats lose; seventh grade gets the win

Thursday, November 3, 2011

GRAVETTE -- It was a night of mixed execution for head coach Don Earnest's Bobcats.

The ninth grade was defeated 20-0, but the seventh grade came out victorious as they shut out Gravette, 22-0.

Jake Summers scored on a 40-yard run, Sebastian Paez ran for a three-yard score and Thomas Trowbridge ran for a 45-yard score.

"We played pretty well ... I was pleased with our effort," Earnest said.

While the team was able to travel and get the win, the ninth grade team was unable to fire on all cylinders.

"We have to learn to play on the road," he added.

Dillon Hughes ran for 60 yards on 15 carries and Emilio Duarte rushed for 57 yards on 10 carries.

Quickness and agility allowed Gravette to take control of the game as the defense could not keep up with their speed.
