St. John's Auxiliary-Berryville (SJAB) hosted the fall Northwest District Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association (AHAA) meeting at Freeman Heights Baptist Church Oct. 19. More than 90 members representing the eight auxiliaries which comprise the district attended.

AHAA has 7,051 members statewide with 1.9 million volunteer hours reported in 2011.

State president Lynn Smith spoke to the group about the upcoming changes in health care and urged everyone to take part in the votervoice link at arkhospitals.org to inform our elected officials of our views on upcoming actions.

President-Elect Sharon Huffmire encouraged the auxiliaries to publicize MedicAlert, which is a state program.

Door prizes and lunch were followed by the appearance of Miss Lula Belle Jones, a 1949 Retired Principal (Sondra Torchia) who delivered a delightful motivational presentation.
