Fayrene Farmer Smith, a resident of Green Forest, AR, was born July 25, 1929 in Green Forest, AR, a daughter of Carroll and Mae (Villines) Stafford. She departed this life Monday, September 26, 2011 in Branson, MO, at the age of 82 years.
Fayrene was a life member of the United Methodist Church in Green Forest. She worked as a school teacher for 23 and a half years. Fayrene was also an author of the "Nubbin Ridge" column in the local paper and of "The Home Place" which was published in 1997.
Fayrene was united in marriage with Albert Smith who survives her of the home. She is also survived by two sons, Gerald Farmer and wife Pala of Green Forest, AR and Danny Farmer of Fayetteville, AR; one daughter, Alice Gaye and husband Mark Zini of Overland Park, KS; two grandsons, John-Mark Farmer Zini and Dylan Hunter Zini; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
On December 22, 1949, Fayrene was united in marriage with Gaylord Farmer who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Mae Stafford; two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Green Forest United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
