Bobcats travel to Harrison
HARRISON -- Head coach Don Earnest and his eighth grade Bobcats traveled to Harrison to take on the Goblins on Monday night, but they could not pull out the win as they were defeated 16-14.
Running backs Rhet Hill and Bryan King both had touchdowns, but it was not enough.
"The offensive line is learning their roles every week," head coach Don Earnest said.
Hill ran for a 60-yard touchdown and King ran for a 15-yard score.
One area that caught Earnest's eyes were the holes for the running backs.
"From Huntsville to Harrison ... the holes have gotten bigger and bigger," Earnest said. "Our backs have done well."
Earnest said that the whole point of Mondays is to avoid having another practice and "to get better."
The team is starting to play well collectively, which is what the coaching staff has been waiting to see.
The defense is also beginning to show signs of progress and, according to Earnest, two players really stood out to him after Monday's game.
"Johnny (Arnold) has really played well," Earnest said of the linebacker. "Also, Dayton (Williams) has played well for us on the defensive line."
The eighth grade will look to contain the Eagles on Monday night when Huntsville visits Ronnie Clark Field. Earnest is pleased with the team so far.
