OAK GROVE -- Ronnie Lee Sutton, 43, of Oak Grove, was booked into jail for the alleged rape of a preteen girl.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Investigator Mark Bailey, with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Sutton was booked into jail Tuesday based on allegations made by the girl and information gathered during a physical examination.

The allegation came to the attention of Bailey through the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division, which had received a tip from a school official.

During an interview with the alleged victim, she reportedly said she could not "keep it in any longer" and had told two of her friends about the repeated abuse.

Sutton is accused of fondling her and of digital penetration.

The affidavit said the pre-teen girl and her family were moved into a shelter until other arrangements could be made.

Sutton was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond. His court date is Oct. 10.
