Bobcats' varsity defense struggles in home loss to Gravette; JH wins
BERRYVILLE -- The Lady Bobcats took to the court on Thursday night in another round of action against Gravette.
It was a night of mixed results as the varsity squad dropped all three sets, 16-25, 21-25, and 14-25.
"We played well and hit the ball well," head coach Kristen Whetham said.
While the offensive production was not reflected in the final score, it was the defense that struggled throughout the night.
"We were caught standing around," Whetham said. "If you can't play defense, you can't expect to win."
The Bobcats, however, got some solid production from their serves.
"We really did a good job on our serves," Whetham said. "We only had three errors."
Emily Trowbridge had four aces; Kayla McCullough had two aces; McKenna Terster had three aces; Kaylee Eden produced 10 kills, and McCullough also contributed 18 kills.
The junior high team took two of three sets, wining 26-24 in the first and 25-15 in the third.
The junior varsity dropped both of their sets, 18-25 and 15-25
