Dorothy Marilyn Ward, a resident of Green Forest, AR, was born February 23, 1931 in Des Moines, IA, a daughter of Loren and Dorothy (Wilson) Beeler. She departed this life Thursday, April 21, 2011 in Springfield, MO, at the age of 80 years.

Dorothy was of the Protestant Faith. She loved knitting and sewing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy worked as a secretary for Ellis Floors in California for 20 years.

She is survived by three children, Danny Ellis of Golden Valley, AZ, Diana Dean of Kingman, AZ and Judy Carmen of Green Forest, AR; eight grandchildren, Shane and Billy Carmen, Kristi Robinson, Trisha and Kevin aEllis, Tracey Newton, Cindy Dean and Summer Martin; 12 great-grandchildren, David, Kari, Lilli, Lane Carmen, Star and Bryce Martin, Kaylee and Barry Robinson, Hailey and Heath Newton, Serenity Dean and Taylor Ellis; two brothers, Richard and Bobby Beeler; special nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

On June 23, 1950, Dorothy was united in marriage with David Ellis, who preceded her in death. On July 30, 1984, Dorothy was united in marriage with her second husband, Ray Ward, who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, Loren and Dorothy Beeler.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the home of Judy Carmen. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
