HI board to choose new member
HOLIDAY ISLAND -- The Holiday Island Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, April 18, at 9 a.m. in a special meeting and go into executive session to consider appointing a board member to replace Dixie Mills, who resigned in March.
The board chose to solicit resumes for the position rather than appointing from among candidates who ran in the December election.
Two resumes were received by the deadline, from Ken Ames and Gary Hanson.
Hanson received the most votes behind Mills in the election.
He is also a board member for Table Rock Landing Timeshares, which is currently in dispute with the district over assessment rates.
Ames is vice-president of the Holiday Island Homeowners Association and is slated to become its president next year, if past practice is followed.
A work session is scheduled for 10 a.m. that same morning, following the special meeting.
On the agenda is a discussion of Holiday Island marketing and promotion.
The public is invited to attend. The district office is located at 110 Woodsdale Drive.
