Harry Warren "Bud" Kafka

Harry Warren "Bud" Kafka, 92 of Inverness, FL, died on February 25, 2011 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Bud was born on February 22, 1919 in Chicago, IL, the son of Albert and Cora Lee Kafka.

He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII. Bud was a buyer for Montgomery Wards in Chicago and the owner of the Plaza Toggery Boys and Men's Wear in Northbrook, IL. Bud was a past president of Rotary and exalted ruler of the Elks. He retired in 1969 and moved to Rocky Waters Farm, Eureka Springs, AR where he began farming and ranching. He moved to Inverness, FL in 2004. Bud was a member of First United Methodist Church of Inverness. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Bud was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Joyce Johnson Kafka and his sister, Betty Conzett.

Survivors include his wife, Ardeth Kafka of Inverness, FL; four children, Robert Kafka (Sharan) of Ft. Myers, FL, Douglas Kafka (Mary) of Ramona, CA, William Kafka (Jennifer) of Houston, TX and Lynn Cox (William) of Ft. Myers, FL; sister, Coralie Nelson of Hendersonville, TN. Bud had eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mr. Kafka was held at 11 a.m. on March 5, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Inverness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
