Cozy and creative

While winter winds blew outdoors, Alana Perew was cozy and warm indoors, painting a picture at the Berryville Head Start center where she participates in educational and enrichment activities. Head Start is a federally-funded nonprofit preschool program for three-to-five year-olds. The Berryville center is currently operating at capacity with 38 youngsters enrolled. There is a waiting list and parents can sign up by visiting the website: According to local program director Pam McCormick, enrollment applications are available at the website for the Berryville, Green Forest and Huntsville centers. • It is wonderful to see a program that offers the children the opportunity to be creative. It seems

that so many of the schools now can not afford the supplies to enable the children the exposure to the arts.
