The Carroll County Community Orchestra announces its Holiday 2010 concert, Sounds of the Season, to be held at the Berryville Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m.

The orchestra, led by conductor Ken Smith, is in its seventh year, and boasts 30 volunteer members from all over the county. This year's holiday concert will have a variety of music from pop to jazz to Christmas and holiday favorites. An intermission will include complimentary coffee, drinks, and cookies.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to a yearly university scholarship given to local high school senior musicians. Since the orchestra's beginning, at least one scholarship has been awarded per year. Most recently, the orchestra awarded one scholarship of $700 in 2009, and two scholarships of $700 each in 2008. Tickets are available at the Berryville Community Center front desk ($5 for adults, $3 for students).

This concert is sponsored by The Berryville Community Center Foundation Presents the Arts. Other sponsors include First National Bank of Green Forest, Tanner Hardware and Lumber, Country Rooster, Poyner Drug Store, and Shelter Insurance.
