BERRYVILLE -- A family has offered a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who reportedly caused an accident that injured their 15-year-old boy.

Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run traffic accident that occurred last Saturday night, around 7 p.m., on U.S. Hwy. 62 between Berryville and Green Forest.

They say a 15-year-old male youth traveling east aboard a blue Kawasaki Ninja was injured when the driver of a grey pickup reportedly stopped suddenly, causing the motorcycle to collide with the pickup, go out of control and land in a ditch on the other side of the road.

In their initial report, police say the youth claims that prior to the accident, the pickup driver passed him, purposely crowded him, and threw something out that nearly struck him.

They say the youth was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The pickup was described as grey in color, perhaps a GMC or Chevy two-door. The collision reportedly broke the left rear tail light.

One witness at the scene said they had passed a pickup with a broken tail light.

Another witness said the injured youth was coherent and able to share information.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Carroll County Sheriff's Office at (870) 423-2901.
