HI board sets amenity fees, policies
HOLIDAY ISLAND -- In another six-hour work session, the Holiday Island Board of Commissioners set fees and policies for its amenities and scheduled another session to continue its 2011 budget planning.
Some of the major changes include fees for golf amenity cards. An individual card will be $400, and a family card, $600. All other amenities will be free except swimming, which will have swim pass fees for individuals and families. The pool daily use fee will be $3, with 50 percent off for "twilight swim."
Daily use fees for golf will be charged by the round rather than the day, with $9 for 9 holes at the 18-hole course and $13 for 18 holes. At the 9-hole course, 9 holes are $7 and 18 holes, $10.
The golf cart rider fee is eliminated, along with the "double seat" charge. Cart lease rate for families has been lowered to $600.
The board also removed the three-cart restriction for parties of five.
"It makes no sense to me that foursomes can have four carts, but a fivesome can only have three carts," said Chairman Bruce Larson. The board approved the change 3-1 (Commissioner Putnam absent), with Commissioner Kay Janky voting no.
Recreation Center daily use fees for guests of property owners, timeshare owners and RCI exchanges is $4, with an off-season rate of $2.
Campground fees are $5 to property owners.
The board voted to give District Manager Kevin Crosson the authority to negotiate an upgrade of the Well #4 generator, not to exceed $20,000 with the seller and manufacturer.
The board will continue its budget deliberations in another work session on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. at the district office.
