Betty Pharis, a resident of Berryville, AR, was born April 13, 1930 in Hightower, AL, a daughter of Roy and Flossy (Loverne) Butler. She departed this life Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Berryville, at the age of 80.
Betty was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church. She was also the owner of the Meryl Norman Studio in Berryville for many years.
Betty is survived by four sons, Shannon Pharis and wife Mary Ann of Green Forest, AR, Keith Pharis and wife Laura of Fayetteville, AR, Eddie Bradley and wife Jeanett of Allen, TX and Jamie Pharis and wife Sharon of Plano, TX; two brothers, Paul Butler and wife Dorothy of Bowden, GA and Gerald Butler and wife Carol of Berryville, AR; four sisters, Delilah Garner of Berryville, AR, Elaine Cummings of Berryville, AR, Jean Taylor of Birmingham, AL and Curtis and husband Curt South of Carrollton, GA; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.
On February 21, 1953 Betty was united in marriage with Vernon Howard Pharis who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents and one brother, Reese Butler.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Billy McCall officiating. Interment will follow in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
