Chamber banquet Oct. 19

BERRYVILLE -- The Berryville Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Chamber Banquet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the banquet hall at the Berryville Community Center.

This year's banquet will include a sit-down dinner catered by Brown Bag Catering (Connie Lascano and Joyce McMullen), a rousing address by guest speaker John Thomas, and the presentation of awards that will follow.

According to Chamber Director Ginger Oaks, guest speaker Thomas, with Jack Henry and Associates, comes highly recommended.

"Sheila Robinett heard him at a seminar and said the time went so quickly because he was so entertaining but full of information and ideas," Oaks said. "He is a motivational speaker whose theme is doing business in harder economic times."

The presentation to follow will include a variety of agricultural, business, and community service category awards.

Oaks said the sit-down dinner will feature roast beef and all the trimmings, including mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, homemade rolls, salad, and dessert, with a side of chicken from Tyson Foods.

"We would like for people to order tickets for a great roast beef and chicken dinner, hear Thomas speak, and celebrate those receiving the annual chamber awards," Oaks said. "We feel like many will want to attend for all these reasons.

"I would like to have people who are not chamber members come so they can meet the business people in the area -- and to hear a speaker of this caliber. We are very fortunate to have Thomas speak."

She said the Chamber Banquet marks the end of the chamber year, and four new chamber Board members will be announced at that time.

Banquet tickets will be sold for $15 each, or $100 for a table of eight. They will be available in advance through the chamber office or at the door the night of the banquet.
