Benjamin Arthur Ratzlaff
Benjamin Arthur Ratzlaff, a resident of Green Forest, AR, was born November 28, 1941 in Emporia, KS, a son of Arthur Everett and Velma Doris (Carter) Ratzlaff. He departed this life Monday, October 4, 2010 in Springfield, MO, at the age of 68.
Ben served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Yell Masonic Lodge #64 and VFW. Ben worked as a cattle and poultry farmer.
On August 3, 1968, Ben was united in marriage with Nancy Anderson who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one son, Thomas Ratzlaff and wife Andrea of Virginia Beach, VA; one daughter, Julie Adams of Green Forest, AR; three grandsons, Jeff Adams, Barrett Ratzlaff and Sepp Ratzlaff; one granddaughter, Karley Adams; two aunts, Hazel Ratzlaff of South Havens, KS and Marjorie Kitterman of California; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel with Brother Gary Hayhurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Norris Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
