A special gospel concert is coming to the area featuring a memorable performance by the great Albert E. Brumley, Jr., a talented Southern Missouri gentleman and son of the gospel great Albert E. Brumley, Sr., who composed more than 800 gospel songs, many of which are instantly recognizable classics.

In addition to keeping his father's immortal music alive -- Brumley, Jr. has performed with Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Barbra Mandrell, Johnny Russell, and more. He also has a recorded album with Merle Haggard called "Two Old Friends."

Legendary guitarist Bill L. Smith is bringing the talent together. He has taken the stage with such stars as Merle Haggard and the Strangers, Justin Tubb, Porter Wagoner, Grand Ole Opry Tours with the great George Morgan, as well as countless radio and television appearances.

He will be performing at the gospel concert with his Cross Band, which is well known throughout the region. The Cross Band will be performing their signature song "The Cross" written by Bill's son Shannon Smith.

Everyone is welcome to this special live gospel concert, set for 3 p.m., Sunday, June 13 at the Lohmer Full Gospel Church, located at the junction of highways 39 and 76 in Shell Knob, Mo.
