Authorities seek man for assault

Friday, May 21, 2010
The Carroll County Sheriff's Department and the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, Probation and Parole are searching for 36 year-old Christopher Leighton Branning.

On April 6, Carroll County Deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence 911 call at a Carroll County residence. The subsequent investigation resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for Branning on felony first-degree domestic battery and misdemeanor terroristic threatening charges. Branning was gone when the deputy arrived. Branning has not been located and the arrest warrant remains valid.

Carroll County deputies responded to the same residence on May 6 in response to a domestic violence 911 call. The subsequent investigation resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for Branning for felony third-degree domestic battery, two counts of misdemeanor third-degree battery, felony terroristic threatening, and felony aggravated assault on a family member. Branning had again left the residence prior to law enforcement's arrival. This arrest warrant remains valid.

Branning has a past criminal history, in part including kidnapping, domestic battery, stalking, aggravated assault, battery, violation of a protection order, terroristic threatening, carrying a knife, criminal mischief and escape. Branning's parole officer has also issued a White warrant for absconding.

Anyone with information about Branning's location should contact the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, or if seen, dial 911. Police warn no one should try to apprehend him.
