CEDARVILLE -- The Green Forest Lady Tiger basketball team didn't worry about traveling to the Pirates Den on Tuesday and instead robbed the home team of a 71-62 victory with four players scoring in double figures and the team making 10 threes.

That upped their record to 15-6, 5-2 in 3A-1 West action to stay tied with Greenland for first place.

The Tiger boys led for a quarter to start, 10-8, but were outgunned in a 24-53 loss.

Senior High Girls

21-9, 41-29, 55-47, 71-62

Carley Arnold and Nikki Mullen were on fire to start, with Arnold nailing 4 3-point shots the first quarter, finishing with 6 on the night for 23 points.

Mullen netted 19 and hit a three and Kara Heads netted 14 with 3 threes, but the Lady Pirates rallied the second half to keep it close as post player Samantha Rose scored 19 points.

"Samantha is a bull and has got a motor," Coach Farrar said. "It doesn't matter how many you put on her she'll just push them out of her way.

"Nikki and Carley were on fire coming out, the only ones to score the first quarter, but we had four in double figures. One was Kodee Powell with 11 points. She didn't play like a freshman," Farrar said.

"Tara Mullen controlled the boards, along with Kaleigh Evans and Megan Barinsky, who did a good job on Rose. They got rebounds instead of Rose getting them."
