Dr. Bob J. Martin
Dr. Bob J. Martin, age 71, of Yellville, Arkansas died on December 2, 2009 at the Marion County Nursing Home. He was born January 17, 1938 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Cleo and Delsie Martin.
Dr. Martin received a BA degree from the University of Arkansas in 1962 and graduated from the University of Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1968. Dr. Martin had practiced dentistry in Fayetteville, Arkansas and then joined the faculty at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, and retired as a dentist in Houston, Texas. He wrote preventive dentistry articles for the Journal of the American Dental Association and was well known as a restorative dentist.
Survivors include his daughters, Barrie Fedosa of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Ashley Royal of Memphis, Tennessee, Sabra Martin of Houston, Texas; a son, Shannon Martin of Houston, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and James Hall of Summit, Arkansas and four grandchildren, Charles Taylor and Lauren Taylor of Eureka Springs, Madeline Fedosa of Urbandale, Iowa and Macy Patterson of Memphis, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There was a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 5 pm. at the United Methodist Church to celebrate Bob's life. A memorial fund has been established at the United Methodist Church in Yellville.
