OMAHA -- The Green Forest Tiger basketball team exited the Omaha Border Classic tournament on Wednesday after playing their third game in a row.

Two tournament games on Monday and Wednesday were sandwiched around a regular season matchup on Tuesday making a tough start to the season for an inexperienced squad.

The Tigers were hammered by highly seeded Bergman on Monday, 82-39, in their season opener, then fell 61-28 to host Omaha on Wednesday.

"Only two played high school ball last year. It will take some time," Coach Bill Niven said about the team.

MONDAY, NOV. 30

Vs. Bergman

3-25, 22-48, 34-67, 39-82

"It was our first game," Coach Niven said. "We had four practices and fatigue set in at the end. It was 10-0 before we got the ball past half court. Josiah Goodman shot the ball well, hit five threes and scored 17. The kids worked hard."

Scoring- GF- Goodman- 17, 5 3s; Jagger Wilson- 8, 8/10 Fts; Wesley Kilbourn- 6, 2/2 Fts; Cole Newberry- 2, 2/2 Fts; Jonathan Yak- 4, 1/3 Fts; Josiah Mullins- 2. BG- 17 scored, with 11 and 10 points tops.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 2

Vs. Omaha

6-14, 16-31, 25-50, 28-61

"We stayed close for a little while, then Omaha made a big third quarter run," Coach Niven said. "They shot free throws well, made 14 of 19, and we made just 7 of 14.

"We missed a ton of shots around the basket, didn't get our feet set. Brian Badley is back. He brings intensity and that will help us."

Scoring- GF- Josiah Goodman- 11, 1 3s; Wesley Kilbourn- 7; 4's- Josiah Mullins, Jagger Wilson; 1's- Cole Newberry, Eric Griffith. OM- Heath Moore- 18; Allen Heston- 16; Tyler Lippe- 13.
