Teams headed to new conferences in 2010

LITTLE ROCK -- The Arkansas Activities Association Board of Directors released the conference alignments for the 2010-11 school years recently.

Class 6A and 7A teams have been combined for football and basketball, with some changes in store for Carroll County teams in 4A and 3A.

In Class 5A football and basketball, Huntsville has moved up from 4A and will face Alma, Greenbrier, Greenwood, Harrison, Morrilton, Siloam Springs and Vilonia.

In Class 4A, the only change in the 4A-1 conference for Berryville is the addition of Ozark in place of Huntsville.

Teams are Berryville, Farmington, Gentry, Gravette, Ozark, Pea Ridge, Prairie Grove and Shiloh Christian.

In Class 3A football, Green Forest has been moved back to 3A-1 in the north and will face Elkins, Greenland, Lincoln, Marshall, Mountain View, West Fork, and Yellville-Summit.

In 3A-1 basketball, Green Forest will play Cedarville, Elkins, Greenland, Lincoln and West Fork.

In Class 2A, Eureka Springs will remain in the 2A-4 conference with County Line, Decaur, Hackett, Hartford, Mountainburg and Union Christian.

In Class 1A, Alpena remains in the 1A-1West conference with Bruno-Pyatt, Lead Hill, Omaha, St. Joe and Western Grove.
