Chaplain James E. E. Post

Chaplain James E. E. Post, of Eureka Springs, AR, formerly of Platte Woods, MO, was born September 5, 1915 in Kansas City, KS to James and Edith Post. He joined his beloved wife of 60 years, Jean Rose, Friday, October 16, 2009 in Eureka Springs, AR at 94 years.

Married February 26, 1939, Jean preceded him in death November 11, 1999. He was also preceded by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Mr. Post served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an Ordained RLDS Minister. He had a variety of job experiences from church pastor to movie theatre manager, commercial artist and photographer to police officer, and traffic court judge. He was a Dale Carnegie instructor, Kansas State Prison Protestant Chaplain for 30 years, a 32 Degree Mason, Shriner and a member of the VFW and American Legion.

Mr. Post never allowed his disease to affect his faith. He enjoyed leading prayers and hymns at Ridgeview and Brighton Ridge nursing homes in Eureka Springs. He loved with a passion his family, friends, good food and his Lord Jesus Christ. He was a constant figure in the lead vehicle of numerous Eureka Springs parades and honorary member of Carroll County Cruisers and Police Car Owners of America.

Mr. Post is survived by one son, James Post and wife, Terri, of Eureka Springs, AR; one daughter, Rebecca and husband, Tim Dyer, of Independence, MO; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m., October 26, Nelson's Chapel in Eureka Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to further Alzheimer's research at www.alzinfo.com. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
