$1.88 million contract awarded for Hwy. 21 bridge

A contract has been awarded for the construction of a new bridge on Ark. Hwy. 21 over Osage Creek, just south of Berryville.

The $1,884,776.58 contract was awarded to Crouse Construction Co. of Harrison after bids were opened by the Arkansas State Highway Commission last week. The bid award was announced by Highway Commissioner Dick Trammel of Rogers.

"This project will be located south of Berryville and will make this a safer roadway for years to come," said Trammel.

Trammel said work could begin on the project in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2011.
