Children Living in Poverty group to meet

Tuesday, October 20, 2009
The Carroll County Community Foundation will conduct the fourth in a series of discussions on Children Living in Poverty (CLIP), to be held at Cornerstone Bank on U.S. Hwy. 62 in Eureka Springs from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct.26.

Interested persons are invited to attend. The meeting is in the second floor conference room; attendees are asked to use the back of the parking lot.

Several reports will be heard: on foster care levels in the county; on life-skills classes; on the proposed Web site and the existing resource inventory. Discussion is planned on potential grant sources, on a permanent meeting location, and on publicity outlets.

A review of the September meeting with Kathleen Holloway, program coordinator for Hometown Health Improvement of the Department of Health, and a restating of the mission statement drafted under her guidance is also on the agenda.

Owen Kendrick leads the CLIP subcommittee along with board chair Sharon Spurlin and executive director Glenn Williams. For more information, phone Kendrick at (479) 685-0302 or the CCCF office at (479) 253-8203, or e-mail to aedcccf@yahoo.com. Carroll County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Arkansas Community Foundation (www.arcf.org).
