During a special lunchtime meeting on Friday, the board considered the purchase of a house on one lot that is located behind the First National Bank of Green Forest.
It was scheduled to go on the auction block Monday, they were told, and were asked if the district would be interested in bidding.
Superintendent Dr. Randy Byrd said it's an odd, pie-shaped piece of land bound on both sides and the house that sits on the lot wouldn't do the district much good.
The board members agreed that the land wasn't needed except for possible future use and voted not to pursue the purchase of the piece at this time.
