Steven Dwan Treat

Steven Dwan Treat, 57, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died August 22, 2009 at the Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. He was born October 19, 1951 at Eureka Springs, the son of Sheriff Dwan W. and Virginia Lee Begley Treat. He was a retired law enforcement officer having served 28 years with the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, Washington County Sheriff's Department and Madison County Sheriff's Department where he held the rank of Captain and later Sheriff. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include: his wife, Athena Mae Warren Treat of the home; two sons, Dustin Dwan Treat and Michael Heath Walker, both of Springdale, Arkansas; one daughter, Brandie Mae Treat of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one grandson, William Noah Walker of Centerton, Arkansas and one granddaughter, Lillian Mae Walker of Centerton, Arkansas.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 27, at the Farmer Cemetery near Berryville with the Reverend Lonny Burks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Dennis Donahou, Brad Hathorn, Gary Bunch, David Howard, Kim Tipton and Cary Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Law Enforcement Community. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
