Carl Edward Asbury, a resident of Green Forest, AR, was born April 30, 1920 in Treece, KS, a son of George and Edna (Moulder) Asbury. He departed this life Friday, July 17, 2009 in Shell Knob, MO at the age of 89.

He was a veteran who served our country in the U. S. Army during WWII.

In May 1951 he was united in marriage with Eunice Marie Anderson who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one son, Gary and wife Anita Asbury of Hindsville, AR; two daughters, Sharon & husband Kenneth Tanner of Harrison, AR; Sheila and husband Michael Phillips of Shell Knob, MO; two brothers, Vernie Asbury of Oak Grove, AR; Bobby Joe Asbury of Misoula, MT; two sisters, Eudell of Booneville, AR; Charlene of OK; one aunt, Dorothy Magness of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two brothers, and one sister.

Visitations will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Nelson's Green Forest Chapel. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Yocum Cemetery with Rev.
