BERRYVILLE -- While a series of burglaries at Dollar General and Dollar Tree stores in four states has led to the Arkansas State Police joining with other law enforcement agencies to investigate the crimes and identify suspects, there is no evidence of burglaries at any of the stores in Carroll County.
Eureka Springs Police have been asked by Dollar General to provide added security and keep an eye on the place as a precautionary measure, but there has been no theft or burglary there. Police do provide an escort when deposits are taken to the bank.
In Green Forest, there have been no reports of any burglary at Dollar General, but due to the ASP investigation, extra patrol is being added.
In Berryville, there has been no report made of any burglary at Dollar General, nor had added security measure been taken as of Monday morning.
Both Dollar General and Dollar Tree stores in Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas have been burglarized. In each of the stores that have been hit, the store safe has been the primary objective.
Video recordings of the break-ins have been compiled by ASP in hope that someone may recognize the bandits, who typically wear bandanas or ski masks.
Anyone with information about these burglaries or information that may lead to identification of suspects should contact their local law enforcement agency or the Arkansas State Police at (800) 553-3820.
