Jimmie Paul Fanning

Jimmie Paul Fanning, 64, of Green Forest, was born on February 14, 1945, in Carroll County, a son of Floyd W. Fanning and Agnes (Weems) Fanning. He passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Hospice of the Hills House, in Harrison.

Jimmie was raised in Eureka Springs, along with his eight brothers and sisters. On November 3, 1962 he married Darlene Johnson, and shortly afterward, joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for five years. They later moved to Wichita, Kansas where Jimmie was employed at Farmland Processing Plant for 37 years. In October, 2008, he and his wife, Darlene move to Green Forest to retire.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wayne, Lawson and Floyd Jr., four sisters, Thelma Kelley, Joann Fanning, Edna Disheroon and Margaret Hatcher (his twin).

He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Johnson, of the home; one sister, Geraldean Darity of Green Forest; three daughters, Sharon and husband Ronald Minty, Lorraine Kaye, Regina Fanning all of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Amanda Fanning, Aaron Walker, Shayla Minty, Kylee Minty, Kalyn Graves of Wichita, KS and 5 great-grandchildren of Donna, TX.

Celebration of Life service, 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Private interment to follow the services.
