CCCC Junior Golf Clinic attended by First Tee and 50 local youths

BERRYVILLE -- The Carroll County Country Club held its annual free Junior Golf Clinic on Thursday, May 28, with the help of the PGA's First Tee of NorthwestArkansas Jamie Hussey reported this week.

Executive Director Mike Shea and First Tee coaches Tim Pschierer and Matt Perkins were on hand to reach out to local youth and introduce them to the game of golf.

Nearly 50 kids of all skill levels made it to this successful event, Hussey said.

The club followed up the clinic with a putt, drive, and chip contest on Monday, June 1. Almost 35 of the kids came back to show off their skills and enjoy a free hot dog cookout.

"The Junior Golf Committee would like to thank the parents and kids for their participation and would also like to thank the many volunteers, club members, Walmart of Berryville, the Men's Associaiton, and of course the Carroll County Country Club and First Tee of Northwest Arkansas for helping with this event," Hussey said.

Results are as follows:

7-and-under boys, girls

Putting- 1st Kendall Demeyer; 2nd- Jake Wilson; Chipping- 1st- Kaylin Rains; 2nd- Sara Pruente; Driving- 1st- Katelyn Smith; 2nd- Kaylin Rains.

8-9 year old girls

Putting- 1st- Sarah Shumaker; 2nd- Shelby Stracner; Chipping- 1st- Shelby Stracner; 2nd- Kalei Clark; Driving- 1st- ShelbyStracner; 2nd- Sarah Shumaker.

8-9 year old boys

Putting- 1st- Tate Patton; 2nd-Adam Pruente; Chipping- 1st- Alex Smith; 2nd- Tate Patton; Driving- 1st- Tate Patton; 2nd- Payton Lee.

13 and over girls

Putting- 1st- Alex Giles; 2nd-Ashley Wilson; Chipping- Ashley Wilson; 2nd- Beth King; Driving- 1st- Beth King; 2nd- Kaitlyn Stogsdill.

13 and over boys
