James C. Crouse

James C. Crouse, 79, of Holiday Island, AR, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Mt. Olive Cemetery near Marshall, with Rev. Allen Thrasher officiating. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Cemetery Association, c/o Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born March 25, 1930, in Medicine Lodge, KS, he was the son of the late Harry Crouse and Merle Montgomery Crouse Monaghan. On January 9, 1960, he married Joyce Buck who survives of the home. He had lived in Holiday Island since August of 1994, moving from Topeka, KS. He retired from the State of Kansas Division of Printing in 1992. He was a member of Holiday Island Community Church, Elks Lodge and Holiday Island Men's Golf League.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Jill Cummings and husband Jaye of Chelsea, ME, Jana Meeks of Dallas, Georgia; one son, Jeff Crouse and wife Jennifer of Pleasanton, CA; six grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Crouse and wife Nancy of Holiday Island; an additional sister-in-law, Jean Buck of rural Marshall, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Dr. C.R. Monaghan.
